I am in a writers group. Yes, I am trying very hard to be a writer. I am going to school, I am writing every day. All that stuff. But the group, a rabble of talented Salt Lake City book store employees, is the interesting part.
We just attended a forum at the National Horror Convention about writers groups. We listened to the most successful writers group I know about (Who Wants Cake?) talk about what they do and why the group works for them. We were inspired to start a blog and, kindly, they named it for us: Chupacabra Can't Be Stopped!!

Things are slow but good for me musically. One of the bands I'm in is actually signed (Winterlore, it's basic, no-frills Nordic black metal), there are labels interested in both Elderfrost (my solo Viking project) and Gallowbraid (the black/doom/post-rock band I'm in with Henry and my brother), and the other band I'm in (name pending) has some shows coming up in November! So I'm keeping myself pretty busy with such things, as you might imagine.
It sounds like you really have some good things going. I hope you keep it up! Let me know when your shows are happening. I'll be out of town for part of November but not all of it. I would like to watch you play if possible!
